What does a hotel cleaner do?

Hotel cleaners are employees responsible for ensuring cleanliness and order in hotel rooms, common areas and other facilities. The responsibilities of cleaning staff may include the following:

 

Housekeeping

Cleaners clean hotel rooms. This includes tasks such as making beds, cleaning bathrooms, sweeping and mopping floors, and assembling and cleaning furniture.

 

Change of sheets and towels

Housekeeping staff changes bed linen, towels and other textiles after guests leave. They provide new sheets and towels.

 

Bathroom cleaning

Bathroom cleaning includes tasks such as cleaning and disinfecting the sink, toilet, shower or bathtub.

 

Floor cleaning

Cleaners sweep and mop the floors in the premises, and, if necessary, carry out general cleaning using cleaning machines.

 

Caring for furniture and equipment

Cleaning and care of furniture and other equipment in the room are the responsibility of the cleaning staff.

 

Garbage collection

Collects waste from premises and disposes of it appropriately.

 

Cleaning of common areas

Housekeeping staff clean hotel lobbies, restaurants, hallways, staircases, and other common areas. Sweeps, washes and tidies up these areas.

 

Elevator cleaning

They clean the elevators inside and out. It is the cleaning staff's responsibility to ensure that elevators always look clean and smell good.

Head of Housekeeping

Housekeeping supervisors supervise the work of cleaners and organize work schedules. They make sure that the rooms are cleaned properly.

 

Floor duty officer

Maids monitor the general cleanliness and order on the floors. They can help the maid.

 

Public place cleaner

The general cleaning staff takes care of cleaning the hotel's common areas. This includes areas such as lobbies, restaurants, corridors, staircases and restrooms.

 

Room control duty officer (linen control duty officer)

Room control staff checks the availability of sheets, towels and other textiles used in the hotel. They also handle the washing and replacement of these items.

 

Carpet cleaner

In some hotels, carpet cleaners take care of regular cleaning and maintenance of carpets in the rooms.

 

Window cleaner

They take care of the cleanliness and care of the hotel's glass surfaces.

 

Waste management staff

Garbage Managers are responsible for collecting and organizing trash and recycling materials within the hotel.

 

Stair cleaner

They take care of the cleaning and maintenance of the hotel's staircases.

 

Green cleaner

Hotel gardener (gardener)

They take care of the cleaning and organization of the hotel's gardens and outdoor areas.
